Bert Cole

Bert Cole wanted to start a tent ministry. He came to me one day and said he found a tent for $1500. I said that the church didn't have that amount and nor did I. As Bert would say often "God Will Provide" The very next day a donation of $1500. came to us! After we bought the 40x60ft tent (an old canvas tent with many leaks). We then got another donation and built a stage that we could take apart.

Bert then put together a trailer that we could use to haul the tent, it also served as a stage. We then received more donations and proceeded to buy 150 chairs. The trailer acted as a carpeted stage with electrical plugins and a ramp. The whole ministry fit on one trailer and we just had to set up the tent pull in the trailer and we had a working stage.

Our fist revival was at 'On Cosby' where the old bank was at. The bank served as a stage for the 'Hard Christian' bands like Bone Profit.

They really put on a show. All the young people loved them and it felt good to see the youth (tattoos and all) praising the Lord in their own way. Inside the tent we had many performers and Preachers.

Each night for 7 days we had at least four bands playing on both stages. Outside was during the day then at night the 'tent revival' started. Opening prayer, some group singing then I would preach.

One night God spoke to me and said "Tag Team Preaching" so i immediately picked some people in the crowd (some preachers some not) and asked them to participate in some 'Tag Team Preaching" The object was to speak for 5 min then tag someone else to speak. Without ever doing anything like this before, the Holy Spirit too control and it ran like a freight train. Round and round we went until i wondered "How am I gonna stop this runaway train?" After about 10 rounds I shouted "Let's Pray" and the train pulled into the station.

This was and still is one of the most memorable moments in my preaching carrier.

Then it was time for the entertainment to begin. At lease four bands a night were lined up to play and other than me playing most of the nights all the bands were different. Some young some old some rock some old-time gospel.

Night time brought on a whole new atmosphere that radiated throughout the community.

Many ministries got in volved and it seemed like God was really showing off.

So many wonderful memories, meeting new people, fellowshipping with old and watching the Holy Spirit spread goodness and love all throughout.
